Born in Kinshasa, raised in Johannesburg, schooled at Queens and finished at Wits, and known everywhere he has played as the Postman, because he delivers. Kasende went Griquas, then the Free State Cheetahs — where he was part of the side that won the 2023 Currie Cup — and then to the Ospreys, where a loan became a contract and 34 appearances brought nine tries. The Lions signed him in July 2026 as one of six arrivals. He is the only man in the squad who has played senior rugby for a Welsh region, which in a season that includes a first Champions Cup campaign is not a small thing.
