Six Springbok caps, all of them in 2018. Notshe came off the bench against Wales in Washington on his debut that June and started at No. 8 against Australia in Port Elizabeth in September, when Warren Whiteley's groin gave way. Between those two came a Blitzbok stint and a Barbarians appearance, which tells you most of what you need to know about how he moves for a man of 105 kilograms. Western Province and the Stormers had him for six seasons, the Sharks for four, and Montauban for two in the French second division before the Lions brought him back in July 2026. He arrives in a back row already holding Francke Horn, JC Pretorius and Ruan Venter, which is less a problem than a reflection of where the club carried its heaviest workload last season.
