Siba Mahashe

Flanker

Born April 2004
Hudson Park High School, East London

The man who opened the scoring in the match that won the South African Shield. Mahashe crossed inside the first quarter of the Round 12 win over the Stormers at Ellis Park on 28 February 2026, and Henco van Wyk followed him eight minutes later. Fourteen points inside twenty minutes decided a trophy the club had never won. He captained the Lions Under-21 side in 2024 and 2025 and was the age group's forward of the year, having arrived from Border by way of Craven Week and an SA Schools blazer he wore as captain twice in 2022. He turned professional against Lyon in the Challenge Cup in January 2026 and scored on his league debut against the Sharks. In June he was named in a Springbok squad and played for South Africa A against Zimbabwe in Gqeberha, though he has yet to win a Test cap.
