Richard Kriel

Born 7 July 2000

193cm

93kg

South Africa

Reached fifty Lions appearances during the 2025/26 season. Kriel is unusually tall for an outside back, which is a direct advantage in the aerial contest — relevant given the Lions retained only eighty-four of 486 kicks from hand across the season. He covers wing and fullback and has previous experience with Zebre in Italy, which gives him European exposure ahead of the Champions Cup campaign.
