The most consistent hooker in the squad, with eighty-eight matches on record, over 550 tackles and more than 360 carries. Botha averages over six tackles a match — a hooker who contributes heavily at both ends every week. In 2025/26 he made fifty-seven carries for eighty-one metres and 120 tackles. His reliability is the defining characteristic, and in a group containing three younger hookers he sets the standard.
