Tiaan Wessels

Born 9 January 2003

195cm

120kg

Johannesburg

A Johannesburg-born second row of considerable physical presence, and a South Africa Under-20 international. Wessels has made three Currie Cup appearances as a replacement, contributing mainly through defensive work in short late-game bursts. At 195 centimetres and 120 kilograms he has the raw material to be a dominant URC lock; what he needs now is minutes. His ability to cover the back row adds selection flexibility.
